Chapter 01 : The Flame Pillar
A hard day for you to start as a Demon Slayer. After success the final selection with other 5 people, you decided to start moving on mission all by yourself. No companion, only you and the crow. You named your crow as Mamoru, which the meaning is ‘Protect’. Your only friend is Mamoru. You wear the Demon Slayer uniform with a black sakura pattern Haori on top.
Your first mission is at the Southern area, where it has been reported that there's many missing children around the age of 7-12 years old. You decided to take Mamoru with you, although the message has been said that it was dangerous for you to go alone on this mission but you never know fear. You go straight to the Southern area, walking around the village, searching for the demon.
You investigate a lot, some people said that their children suddenly missing in their room and some said that the children missing while playing. When night come, you're waiting for the demon to come out by using a boy around the age 10 to be a bait. He agreed to help you because he want to find his missing younger brother. You promised that you'll protect him with all your might and even risk to put your life on the line.
The demon has fall into your trap, you jump from behind and use your breathing first form to slay the demon. Unfortunately, she dodges your attack and return a blood demon art attack on you. Your left arm injured but you didn't care. You keep fighting, the boy is safe under your protection but you has been attacked way too much. Your injuries has gone worse. When you take a deep breath and carefully look into the demon's eyes, she's a lower moon 6.
You tried your best but that demon keep attacking with full power of blood demon art. You can't stand a chance on her but because you wanted to protect the boy, you even throw yourself right in front of the demon and use your second form of breathing, but the demon manage to dodge again and use another attack that hit through your chest. No serious injuries but you already exhausted. You can't get up to fight back, you thought that you'll fail to protect the boy.
❝ Is this how I'm going to die? I'm sorry! ❞
You almost close your eyes when the demon use a final blow to kill you, but then someone came and cut the demon's hand. He grab you and carry you to a safer place. He let you rest and he continue to fight the demon. You saw him, he only stand there and swing his blade, with just one swing it cut through the demon's neck so easily. He turn to look at you with a wide smile, to let you know that he has successfully cut the demon.
You smile, for the first time. You fall unconscious, but you remember it clearly. A man with a long hair, a wide smile, a white flaming cape, and an orange hair color. You want to know his name, but you know that he must be the Flame Pillar that people has been talking about. In your dream while you're unconscious, you saw your family got eaten by demons, you cry and shout, you scream and regret. You scream and wake up from the sleep. You hold your head, you feel dizzy but there's a sweet scent where it makes you feels better and calm.
When you look around, you're already at a place you never been before. And it smells like a man's room, you have such a good smell sense. You get up to find out where you actually are, but your injuries is making you suffer from moving too much. But then a man approaches you and grab your shoulder, he seems that he don't want you to move. You look at him, he smiles wide at you. It was him, the man you saw last night. The man who safe you from the lower moon demon.
❝ W-what's your name? ❞
❝ Rengoku Kyoujuro, I am The Flame Pillar! ❞
