Chapter 02 : Wondering
The next day you went to school, you saw Tanjiro talking happily with other classmate students but then you saw Tomioka sensei passes by your classroom and you also saw Sabito and Makomo walk behind Tomioka sensei. You thought, perhaps they are busted for hanging out at the old school building.
They both seems to get along very well, probably they're childhood friend? or, they might be dating. You then move your eyes to look out of the window, you sighed and stretched yourself. You saw a junior female student being chased by your classmate, the yellow-haired-dude, ever since your first day in the school, you already find that guy as a weirdo who always clingy on class representative.
Few minutes later, school bell rang meaning it's the first lesson going to start. You sighed, you dislike History and decided to skip class. So, you give excuse as you said you got stomachache, so the sensei allow you to rest at the school clinic.
“ah, even the clinic are boring as hell.” you sighed again.
“It seems like a new student trying to skip a class that she dislike..” a voice suddenly heard.
“who!?” you get up from the bed and flip the curtain. It was Makomo.
“Hello, (y/n)! Are you really sick?” she chuckles.
“M-Makomo-chan! w-well, no I'm not. I just dislike History.. ah what are you doing here? are you.. perhaps, sick?” you asked.
Makamo didn't answer but instead, she smiles gently at you then slowly pulls you closer to her and whisper.
“Sabito wants to meet you.” she whispered.
“eh? but why?” you blinked your eyes in confused.
“Perhaps, he wanted to apology to you about yesterday. Also, don't think much about my relationship with him, we're just a normal childhood friend. Nothing more nor less.” she chuckles and pushes your back to start walking.
You smile awkwardly and wear your shoes then start to walk towards the old school building. Your mind keep thinking about him and the thoughts of their body are as cold as dead person, what does that means? You scratched your head and slap your face to not mind about that, perhaps it's just your feelings.
When you arrive at the old school building, you saw Sabito sitting on a desk at the classroom. You knock the door and turn at Makomo but she's no longer behind you, where did she gone? You ignored it and walk closer to Sabito and sat on a chair next to the desk he's sitting. A moment of silent between the two of you, however you don't even want to start talking.
It was the same goes to Sabito, neither of you start to talk to each other. Until there's suddenly a cockroach passes on your feet, you jump and screamed. You run towards Sabito and hug him tightly, he hold your shoulder and shoo the cockroach away.
“...” Sabito silent but he caress your long black hair.
You keep closing your eyes, hugging him tight, as if you're gonna die in any minutes. He keep caressing your long black hair but then he chuckles a bit, you notice your current situation and blushes hardly. You pushes him and move back from him, you bow and apology to him but in your thought, his body temperature are cold.
Too cold like a dead person, but as far as you've experienced in spirits, human shouldn't able to touch spirit nor ghost. You're confused with both Makomo and Sabito, what are they? why are they so cold? so many question mark played in your mind. But then, you look at Sabito and noticed he's been holding onto his fox mask.
You pats his shoulder, telling him that he don't have to take off the mask if he didn't want to. Sabito hold your hand tightly and pulls you into a tight hug, you can hear his breathing, and sniffing as if he's crying. You pats him gently, letting him resting his head on your shoulder for awhile.
“(y/n), I'm sorry about yesterday. What I did to you, I am sorry. I didn't mean to be harsh towards you, it doesn't mean I dislike or hate a girl. It's just I..” he haven't finish his words but you interfere in.
“No, Sabito. Don't worry about that, I don't really mind. I just thought that it's our first meeting so it's obvious if you avoid someone you just met who suddenly poking on your neck, right? I understand.” you said and keep patting his head gently.
“That's not quite the reason I avoid you, but there's something that probably sooner or later you'll know.” he said and move back.
“Perhaps..” you look out the window thinking about his words.
You then, turn to look at him but found out that he is no longer there. You sighed and tap your forehead, he disappeared as swift as the wind just like Makomo. That thought makes you widened your eyes in realization, perhaps those two are dead students? but you can touch them, but then them both are as cold as dead person.
You stomp your feet in frustration of thinking too much, with you have no other friend but just them and your parents who passed away, your new life at your hometown. Everything just makes you feels even more stressful than you already am. Suddenly, you heard a desk thrown at the next classroom. You went straight to check if there's anyone there, could it be teacher? or some mischievous students?

// what the hell is that loud sound? as if someone thrown a desk or chair. Perhaps, Sabito or Makomo?
/creak!/ *the sound of door opened*
“Hello? Anyone here? I thought I heard a sound- uhm!!” you suddenly got caught by someone, your mouth being cupped.
“shh! Don't move nor say any words.” a voice of a male. You look up and sigh in relief, it was Tanjiro.
“Look over there carefully, I bet you can see that girl in white dress.” he said.
“A girl in white dress?” you turn your eyes and look at the corner of the class, there's a store at the back of the class and you noticed the girl in white dress, looking sad while starring at the store door.

// who is she? the girl from before, such a beautiful face, a long black hair and butterfly hairpin. She have a nice smile but it seems sad. I'm sure, she's not a human but, why is she there? what did she want?
